11.50pm Well, what a night! Mumbai Indians are back to winning ways, and have done so in thrilling fashion. Earlier in the day, RCB also got back to winning ways in Jaipur. That's all the action from today, which also sees us end the first weekend of the season with two double-headers! Join us tomorrow to see how it goes when Chennai Super Kings take on Lucknow Super Giants. For a recap of this crazy game, head on over to check out Shashank Kishore's report. For now, on behalf of Ekanth, Thilak and everyone else here at ESPNcricinfo, this is Abhimanyu signing off. Goodnight!

11.40pm Time for the presentation ceremony

The player of the match is Karn Sharma: "IT feels good that the hard work I have put it, now whenever I get the chance I want to make the most of it. I just want to focus on my process and the rest is not in my hands. I think KL Rahul's wicket was the game-changing one. The catch was an important one in the game. [On his celebration] I pray a lot that we can win the game so it was for that. [On the ball change] It helps the ball grip even with dew around."

Hardik Pandya: "[Relievedf?] Absolutely. Winning is always special. Especially in games like this. You have to keep fighting and it means a lot. We were getting out of options of what to bowl at him. The way he took on our bowlers, took his chances, and the way he executed. It shows the hard work he has put in. I think he took us by surprise. [On Karn] Fantastic. Coming in and bowling the way he bowled, showed a lot of heart, especially at a small ground like that. [The hat-trick of run-outs] I always believe fielding is something which can change the game upside down. We were switched on, didn't give up and they got the chances and converted. Amazing. [On the batting lineup] It's always going to be depending on the situation. The more the in-form players try to face the balls and take responsibility... Obviously dew played a factor later. Just by making sure the game is not over till its over. Keep fighting - that was the chatter in the group and my message to the boys. Wins like this change the momentum and everything comes back."

Among the positives for DC will ofcourse be Karun Nair and especially his takedown of Jasprit Bumrah. He has been toiling away in domestic cricket, had a great SMAT, a great Vijay Hazare Trophy and been good in the Ranji Trophy as well. And now to come in and smash 89 off 40 in his first game, while taking 29 off those runs off 6 Bumrah deliveries, is nothing short of sensational. Take a bow, Karun Nair. I suppose we have a lot more to come from you!

Mitchell Santner: "Nice to get over the line. Every game in the IPL seems to be pretty close so feels nice to be on the right side of aclose one but it was a hell of a game. I think to finish with three runouts is crazy. [The Boult over] It was one of those games where we were kind of behind for a bit and then he managed to get us right back. To bowl six yorkers in a row in a pressure over is outstanding. Think Karn's spell there to come in and get three big wickets is massive. The only way to slow teams down in the middle is to take wickets and Karn was outstanding and to play like that in his first game was impressive. [The boundaries] are all pretty small, too small. On these grounds, if you can just get hit for six singles [it's good]. The spinners who have done well have bowled defensively instead of trying to spin batters out."

Axar Patel: "[Where did the game go?] To Mumbai (laughs). We had the game. I think we had soft dismissals from the middle order, some bad shots. We lost by 12 runs with an over to go so we could have still won it. It can't happen that your lower order batters will always come save you in chases. There are some odd days where you play wrong shots, so I don't think there is any point in thinking too much about it. I thought 205 was a great target because it was a good pitch and dew was also coming. Maybe if we had caught better, we'd have kept them to lower. I get confidence in bowling all three of our spinners. And two of the three can also bowl in the powerplay. Kuldeep is bowling unbelievably this season. Whenever I need a wicket I can go to him. I think there were a lot of positives today, we just need to forget about this game."

11.25pm What a win for Mumbai Indians! An absolute thriller! Karun Nair's breathtaking knock feels like an age away. Even when he departed, Capitals were well placed. But five wickets in six overs after the tenth were maybe too many. There was a change of balls which seemed to change things over for Karn Sharma as well. Ashutosh Sharma and Vipraj Nigam both threatened to pull off another heist for their team, but in the end it was some suboptimal running from the batters and excellent fielding from MI that see the match finish with a team hat-trick in the penultimate over. Delhi Capitals lose their first game of the season, and probably that was one they should have won!

Bumrah to Mohit, OUT

Another run-out! Mumbai Indians have won it! A hat-trick of run-outs and Mumbai Indians players are jumping over each other! Mumbai Indians win their second game of the season! Incredible scenes at the Kotla! Mohit whipped this out towards mid-on and took off but a direct hit does the job!

Bumrah to Kuldeep, 1 run, OUT

On a length on middle and Kuldeep swings this away to deep midwicket. They run two again and there's a run-out chance again! Kuldeep is juuuuust short! Two run-outs in two balls and Hardik Pandya is delighted! This has been some implosion from the league leaders!

Bumrah to Ashutosh, 1 run, OUT

Yorker on off, he digs it out through point and they race for two. The throw at the striker's end is good and Rickelton takes off the bails. Did he make it back in time? No, he's caught short! The twists keep coming! That was an excellent through, and with Bumrah in his way, Ashutosh was slowed down a little and in the end, those fine margins count for a lot! Should he have just trusted Starc to face the last two balls? Probably! But Mumbai Indians know they are on top here!

Bumrah to Ashutosh, no run

Steps out early to Bumrah, who goes very full on leg. He ends up yorking him self and he glances it through his own legs to long leg. They don't take a single!

Ashutosh has either pulled off, or kept his team in many a miraculous chase. Can he do the job against Jasprit bumrah, though? 23 needed off 12

Santner to Nigam, 1 wide, OUT

Outfoxes him! Santner has been so good today! He anticipated that the batter would give him charge and bowls it short and outside off, getting it to spin away. Nigam is halfway down the track trying to hit that and Rickelton does the rest as Nigam misses
