edges the ball down into the ground, the keeper gathers up the ball and runs towards the stumps to keep the Knights batters to a single. They have done it, the Lightning have won!
Leinster vs Knights, 12th Match at Belfast, INTER-PRO T20, Jun 04 2024 - Match Result
McCollum has broken the record for playing the most T20s (32) for NK, going past Neil Rock
Leinster's 1-run win against Knights is their smallest margin of victory in terms of runs in T20s, beating 4-run win against Warriors
Wow what a close finish between these two teams today, with the Lightning winning by one run to extend their lead at the top of the table.
Only three of the Knights batters made it into double figures and once Pretorius was out for a well made 58, there wasn't many deliveries that made it to the boundary.
Fionn Hand ended up with three wickets, but it was really when Hoey and Sidhu started bowling in tandem, that strangled the momentum from the Knights Innings.
I did think at one point that we were going to get to have a superover to end this day of IP20 cricket, maybe next time...
The Lightning pick up 4 points for the win to stretch their lead at the top of the table to 12 points as we head into the mid-season break. With only 3 rounds of games left when we start again in August, the title is almost within their reach.
It's just been announced that Fionn Hand is the player of the match which will no doubt delight the Fionn Hand Appreciation Society where ever they are today.
It's been a great day of IP20 cricket today, both here at Stormont and earlier at Oak Hill. Thank you for joining me today, and don't forget that tomorrow sees an IP50 double headr
I'll be back here tomorrow to see these two teams battle it out in the longer form of the game. Until then, this is Justin saying goodnight. Bye
Last ball, 2 for a superover, 3 for a win. This is going to be a nervy delivery

can only hit the free hit back past the bowler
Punches the ball down to long-on, have to settle for a single. The bowler has overstepped though, freehit coming up
full ball, looks to play legside again, but is through the shot too early
flicks the ball towards the legside boundary, great diving stop by the fielder in the deep to save a couple of runs
Last over coming up, 11 needed off it for the Knights to win. Could we see a superover?

Hand picks up his third wicket. Mayes gave himself some room as he looks to hit the ball into the covers. Is beaten for pace and the stumps are rattled again. Knights lose another
thick edges the ball towards backward point, the fielder gets his body behid the ball to make sure it doesn't get past him
Humphreys chips the ball towards the wide long-on boundary. The fielder races around and tries to flick the ball back into play. Can't do it
outside off-stump, misses with the drive at the ball
Koen plants the two feet and swings across the line. There is a fielder out at deep mid-wicket and the ball flies flat towards him. Makes it look simple as he takes the catch. Knights lose another, is the pressure starting to show?
Knights Innings losing momentum here, this could be another last ball classic coming up
Hand is back with the Knights needing 17 off the last 12 balls
Mayes stays back in the crease and defends back to the bowler.
driven up to long-off
steps towards the ball and looks to hit down the ground. Doesn't time it at all and the ball drops at his own feet

Koen picks up a welcome boundary. Hits the ball towards extra cover, the fielder makes a bit of a hash at stopping the ball and it gets past him.
Mayes reaches forward with his long arms and hits the ball to long-off
Hoey is bowled out, so Sidhu replaces him
another missed stumping! Koen took a couple of steps out of the crease and swung hard at the ball, missed but the keeper couldn't pick up the ball again.
