25.2 to JA Rudolph, Maharoof strikes after lunch, a good breakthrough for Sri Lanka, it was outside the off stump, Rudolph bit lazy with the drive through the off side, gets the edge through to Prasanna Jayawardene behind the wicket, who takes the catch at a comfortable height.. 78/3 29.4 to AG Prince, another wonderful delivery from Maharoof, moves away after pitching, Prince looking to drive through the off side, he was not fully in position to drive, gets the edge through to Prasanna Jayawardene behind the wicket, who takes another easy catch.. 80/4

9.6 to AJ Hall, bowled him! excellent delivery on the length, nips back in from outside the off stump, Hall on the front foot looks to drive through the off side, gets the inside edge and strikes the middle stump, first strike for Sri Lanka and Fernando.. 32/1 13.6 to HH Gibbs, Fernando strikes again! good length delivery, pitched close to the off stump line and once again the ball nipped back in late, Gibbs is caught on the wrong foot and in the end it was a nothing shot, leaves a yawing gap between bat and pad through which comes the dreadful sound of timber breaking. 45/2 45.5 to A Nel, Another nail goes in! slightly short and coming in with the angle, too good a delivery for Nel, he fails to get bat on ball and is caught plumb in front of the stumps.. 151/8 45.6 to DW Steyn, Dale Steyn goes for a duck! good length delivery, again the one that nips back in, Steyn was clueless, shoulders arms and the ball crashes into the off stump - as easy as it gets. 151/9
18.2 | 6 | 41 | 4 | 2.23 | 82 | 4 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
36.6 to HM Amla, lovely delivery tossed up, the doosra, Amla reads it wrong, comes down the track and looks to drive through the on side, beats his bat, Prasanna Jayawardene fumbles the ball slightly and then removes the bails, Amla was a long way off the crease to get back.. 112/5 40.6 to MV Boucher, nicely flighted delivery on the stumps, Boucher goes for the sweep and is beaten comprehensively, ball clips the top edge and balloons up towards short fine leg. Jayasuriya there moves across quickly to his left and nicely settles under it - South Africa six down. 128/6 44.5 to N Boje, Murali strikes and once again it's the doosra that gets him a wicket. Tossed up on the middle and off stump line, ball grips the surface and turn back in, by the time Boje realised that the ball was turning back in it was too late, impact was bit high but umpire Benson had no hesitation in raising his finger - South Africa seven down. 148/7 50.2 to AB de Villiers, all over! done and dusted in 50.2 overs - flatter trajectory, a genuine off-break, de Villiers comes down the track and lofts it away in the air towards deep midwicket, more of a chip shot than a full blooded hoick, Kapugedera in the deep makes no mistake. 169/10 |
