A clinical performance from the hosts today. Shai Hope and Co will look to bounce in a couple of days at the SCG. Hope to see you for that. Thanks for joining for this one. I'm Ekanth signing off on behalf of my co-commentator, Hemant Brar, and our scorer, M Venkat Raghav.
Xavier Bartlett, POTM Amazing way to start my career. Couldn't ask for more with that first wicket, hit the stumps. Lucky it came off. Was nice coming in with confidence, nice campaign with Heat. Happy to contribute here. Being captained by Smith was surreal having watched him play for ten years.
Hayes: "A bonus point win for the Aussies. Excellent way to start the Tri-Series. Wait, they're still not bringing it back?"
8:57pm An expected result but Australia will be pleased with Green stepping up at No. 3 and Smith continuing his form from the last Test. A few of their debutants were also on the top of their game. In the chase, it was Josh Inglis, smashing it to all parts after Travis Head fell early to a loose ball from Forde. He pounced on anything remotely short. There were five fours and a six in the 11 balls after fifth over. He pretty much toppled the opposition in the powerplay. He got out reversing but the onslaught allowed Cam Green and Steven Smith get into their work without any sense of pressure. The duo rotated strike with ease and used the big pockets on the ground well. Both of them finish with unbeaten 70s to hand Australia a 1-0 series lead.
Smith in no hurry. Blocks the length ball just in front like it was a throwdown
Length on off, blocked in front
Likely to be the final over
Short at the stumps, Greem tries to whip it
Great ball. Length outside off, spins in towards off. Green tries to push towards mid-off, gets a thick inside edge to the leg side
Full on middle, clipped to mid-on
Fullish on leg, glanced with the spin to the right of long leg. Fielder has to run to the right and throw with his left hand, Green took two in the meanwhile
Full on middle, clipped to deep midwicket
Full on fourth, driven to cover point. 79ks
Length on off, punched off the back foot with the spin, to deep point
Walsh experimenting full on here. Goes for the bumper over 100kph. It's outside off, Green is able to cut it to deep point
Length ball on off bowled from next to the umpire, chopped to point
Full and wide, driven to cover
Full on leg, 81ks, worked to long-on
Back of length on off, spins away and is cut to cover, who half stops it. Score moves to choo choo choo for choo
Full outside off, 87ks, Smith steps across to get inside the line and under the ball, then uses the angle to lap it through the vacant leg-slip area
Sits up for the cut, ball spun back in to go over the middle of the bat. Point runs back and stops it. Was a length ball that was slow
Dances down, gets close to the pitch and flicks it to midwicket. 87ks
Fuller side of length, at the stumps, Blocked towards midwicket
Length ball lands in line with leg and spins in further to go past the flick
