0.1 to Mohammad Shahzad, out first ball! Went for an almighty heave over the covers but gets it right off the bottom of the bat. Mid-off and cover rush to get under the skier. Is there going to be a collision? Nope, Cover pulls out. What a start for the hosts! One of Afghanistan's big guns is gone. Shahzad slammed the bat into the ground soon as he hit that shot. And so he should, that was an awful way to kick off a world event. 0/1

5.2 to Gulbadin Naib, makes amends immediately as he runs across the ground towards his right and takes the top-edged slog sweep. Beaten in flight there as Naib had to reach out to connect with that. 36/2 5.3 to Najeeb Tarakai, two off two! This was such a soft dismissal and Mirpur has lost it's roof! This was nicely flighted and Tarakai went for a nudge through midwicket. Playing against the spine comes to bite him as the turn on offer takes the outside edge and gives cover a dolly. 36/3 17.1 to Shapoor Zadran, everyone's on the floor after this! Shapoor goes down the track against the slow bowler and misses the flighted ball completely. Turns to smack into middle stump. Shapoor had lost his balance and went down. Mushi, behind the stumps, is struck by the ball in his eye. The physio has a hand around him as the players walk off. Seemed ugly, but I hope he's alright. 72/10

14.1 to Shafiqullah, this was shortish and pushed down leg, Shafiqullah looks for the pull and gets a bottom edge which lobs off his thigh and Mushi has held on to a pretty sharp catch. Mirpur continues to dance. Afghanistan continue to collapse. Oh dear, replays make it seem there might not be bat involved there. 69/8

9.3 to Mohammad Nabi, this is the arm ball and he's struck on the back pad! What a beaut from Razzak! Nabi has not picked it and was pushing forward to play for the one that turns away. The ball pitches and skids into him and sends him back to the pavilion. 49/5 13.6 to Samiullah Shinwari, another one bites the dust and it's Shenwari who is trapped in front! Is that Afghanistan's last bullet in the barrel? This was tossed up, needed to be played off the front foot. But he goes back and moreover looks to play across the line towards midwicket. The ball pitches and turns and strikes him in front of middle. 69/7

16.2 to Dawlat Zadran, caught as he was backpedaling from cover. This was slower and fuller with a bit of width to entice him and Dawlat could not help himself. Cleared his front leg and searched for the cover boundary to no avail. 71/9 |

7.4 to Tamim Iqbal, that's the first pin down, Tamim stretched forward to defend but he was playing down the wrong line. This grips the pitch and turns a touch to strike him low on the front pad in front of middle. Think that might have clipped leg. 45/1
