18.4 to Samiullah Shinwari, length ball, big slog, mistimed, caught at deep midwicket. But the lack of celebrations seem to indicate Zimbabwe seem to know what's up against them. 161/5

4.5 to Mohammad Shahzad, oh, he's reverse swept it straight to point! Shahzad walks off having made 40 of Afghanistan's 49. It was the over-the-wicket angle that made him do something different. The ball perhaps was a bit further away than he would have liked, which meant he mistimes it. Williams roars. He has his redemption. 49/1

5.3 to Asghar Stanikzai, runs down the track and his big old mow finds midwicket. But Zimbabwe will have to wait for their celebrations. The front foot is being checked, and Panyangara is fine. This one was dug in to counter the batsman's intentions. Stanikzai decided to give it an old tonk anyway, the sound off the bat was a dull clunk and Sikandar Raza moves to his right to hold on and then bellows in glee. 50/2 7.3 to Gulbadin Naib, there's more evidence of the pitch's sluggishness. He has dragged on from outside leg stump! A batsman's instinct usually says pull when a medium pacer bowls short, but it grips into this Nagpur pitch. Gulbadin has completed his shot by the time the ball arrives, takes a bit of the glove and deflects onto the stumps. 60/3 7.6 to Noor Ali Zadran, picks out the fielder in the deep, and its Raza. No shortage of emotion from him as he clings onto a skier. Noor Ali strides out of his crease looking for a flick, but all he has done is give this good length ball just enough air miles to carry to long-on. What an over from Tinashe!. 63/4

18.2 to WP Masakadza, chopped onto his stumps. It was very full, and just wide of off stump, Wellington looks to slice it to third man but ends up directing his own downfall. 118/9

3.3 to H Masakadza, bingo! That wicket has been brought about by the pressure, not so much by the delivery. Only one boundary so far in the Powerplay and Hami M takes it upon himself to change that. Goes for a dirty old slog to a pretty decent delivery - full and straight - he misses, Hamid hits. 26/1 15.5 to Sikandar Raza, wanders outside off to pull off a scoop, but he's the one that's been scooped by Hamid. Slower ball means Raza is put in a pretty bad place. Couldn't adjust to the lack of pace and once he'd allowed the bowler free pass to hit the stumps, Hamid simply keeps to the basics. 95/7
4 | 0 | 31 | 1 | 7.75 | 8 | 3 | 1 | 0 | 0 | |
10.2 to MN Waller, he'd beaten him with a beauty last over, now he's castled him. Poor footwork from Waller. Plants an open face inside the line of the ball - essentially not accounting for the turn which Sami's been getting consistently in this spell. Should have been far more forward, should have played with a straighter bat. He didn't and the off stump pays the price. 59/4

7.3 to R Mutumbami, picks out deep midwicket! These things happen in a tall chase. Rank long hops end up as wicket-taking deliveries as Mutumbami finds out. His pull found Najib like it was a postcard addressed to him. With love.. 47/3
4 | 0 | 11 | 3 | 2.75 | 14 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
6.2 to V Sibanda, oh, Afghanistan have a Star Man too. Rashid Khan spreads his hands wide, the forefinger stretched out and a big smile on his face after hoodwinking the batsman into top-edging a sweep. Sibanda falls after a 21-ball 13. Just what you didn't need in a knockout match chasing 187. Hamid Hassan completes the formalities. 43/2 11.1 to SC Williams, through him, stumped him, Afghanistan are bossing this! And would you look at Shahzad, he knew it straight away and it wasn't even close enough to go to the third umpire it would seem. Williams may have misread the googly going for the slog sweep. He usually lunges forward to play that shot, and it looks like his back leg strayed too far. Shahzad even does a little bit of a robot while celebrating. Move over, gangnam.. 65/5 14.3 to E Chigumbura, straight up and swallowed up. Rashid, take a bow. Pitched it full, didn't give the batsman any room but Chigumbura had to hit out. Looked for the slog, but he has mistimed it terribly. Long-on takes a simple catch. 90/6

19.4 to TL Chatara, and he does get a wicket in the end. Captain has his little bit of fun and seals the match off. Afghanistan storm into the Super 10s. Big old slog from Chatara and the long-on fielder settles beneath it, and just inside of the ropes. Holds on to a simple catch and makes sure he doesn't topple over either. 127/10 |
