Scorecard
Sagicor High Performance Centre crushed Bangladesh A by 351 runs in the first four-day match at Windward Park in Barbados. The game ended on the third evening after the home side were propped up by hundreds from Jermaine Blackwood and captain Kraigg Brathwaite, before four-wicket hauls from Carlos Brathwaite and Miguel Cummins put them firmly in control.
Batting first, Sagicor were restricted to 292 with Blackwood hammering 23 fours and a six in his 160-ball 140. It was a well-paced innings, but apart from Leon Johnson who made 56, none of the other batsmen stuck around for too long. Still, the lone hand was enough to secure Blackwood the Man-of-the-Match award. Robiul Islam and Taijul Islam took three wickets each.
Bangladesh A's reply began well. Imrul Kayes and Shamsur Rahman added 66 for the opening wicket before the team collapsed in a heap. They lost seven wickets for 27 runs on the second morning, with Naeem Islam and the captain Nasir Hossain getting out for ducks. Carlos picked up four wickets while Cummins accounted for three dismissals.
The other Brathwaite, Kraigg, then took center stage as he made 164 off 237 balls with 15 fours and a six. He received little support from the other end but carried on for more than 84 overs. After he was dismissed and the eighth wicket fell, the team declared on 351 runs, setting the visitors a 504-run target.
There was no good starts this time for Bangladesh A as they suffered a steady loss of wickets and were eventually bowled out for 152 in 38.2 overs. Cummins was the pick of the bowlers this time, taking four wickets.
To compound Bangladesh A's woes, pacer Subashis Roy suffered a right shoulder injury while fielding and is currently under observation.
