30.6 to Afsar Zazai, Ngarava picks up his first wicket and Afghanistan are now in real trouble. That was a sharp short of a length ball aiming for his ribs. Zazai can't quite negate that, fends at it and lobs a simple catch to short leg. The third umpire checks for the front-foot no-ball. 36.4 to Shahidullah, nicked and gone! Muzarabani finally has a wicket! And he finally has a wicket because he gets the line and the length right. In the channel, just outside off. Shahid does not know whether to play it or leave it. He cannot decide whether to come forward or stay back either, and ends up nibbling at it loosely. A faint tickle and Gumbie makes no mistake! Afghanistan seven down now, and Muzarabani roars in delight!. 112/7 38.4 to Rashid Khan, and Rashid perishes to the short ball! Not quite the perfect dismissal you'd associate with the short-ball plan. But this will do for now. Short and wide, and Rashid thinks he can cash in. Gets decent purchase on it, but severely lacks the placement or the power. Picks out Bennett to perfection on the deep point fence, and Muzarabani has two in quick succession!. 125/8 | ||||||||||

11.3 to Abdul Malik, a snorter, and the finger goes up! Afghanistan rocked again! This is dug in short again, and rears up, getting awfully big on Malik. He cannot get his gloves out of the way and the ball flicks it, floating through to the keeper. Zimbabwe are up and about now, and Afghanistan under a bit of pressure!. 29/2 22.1 to Hashmatullah Shahidi, Huge, sustained appeal for lbw ... and finally umpire Ahsan Raza raises his finger. Shahidi is not pleased one bit. He hangs around for a while before finally trudging off. Was an excellent delivery regardless. Good length ball that slants back into Shahidi and fizzes through to catch him in front of the stumps. Shahidi is stuck in the crease and on the backfoot and rapped bang in front of the stumps. Not sure what he was complaining about. That was plumb.. 59/3 44.3 to Fareed Ahmad, goes straight up, and Bennett takes it! Nyamhuri has his third, and Afghanistan have been bowled out for 157! Banged into the track on middle and off. Fareed tries to smash it into next week but makes a complete meal of it. No room to free the arms and he shanks it towards deep backward square leg. Bennett settles under it and does the rest. A stark contrast to Afghanistan's first innings in the first Test and Zimbabwe will be happy with their bowling effort!. 157/10 | ||||||||||

29.6 to Rahmat Shah, The unrelenting pressure from Raza pays dividends, and Rahmat loses his leg stump. It was a needless shot from Rahmat, but the pressure from Raza did him in. Fired in on the stumps like he has throughout his spell. Rahmat tries to go for a cheeky lap, misses and sees his leg stump pushed back. Raza exults, Rahmat is distraught.. 81/4 31.3 to Ismat Alam, The off stump has gone for a walk, and Alam's debut lasts all of two balls. That is some splendid bowling from Raza. He saw the first ball that Alam was circumspect with his foot movement. So, he is fires this flatter and right in blockhole on off. Alam plays all around it and sees his stumps in a mess. Raza goes on his celebratory run. 84/6 39.6 to Yamin Ahmadzai, knocks him over with an absolute peach! Fizzed through on a length just outside off. Ahmadzai thinks this is coming into him and plays for the turn. The ball, though, goes straight on and if anything, perhaps straightens a shade. Beaten all ends up, and Ahmadzai hears the death rattle soon after. Raza has three, Zimbabwe have nine!. 130/9 | ||||||||||

Yamin bangs it in short outside off and Myers goes for the cut but only manages a top edge that's taken comfortably by Afsar Zazai. Zimbabwe suddenly in a spot of bother!. 41/4 70.2 to R Ngarava, Knocks him over! Gets this length ball to seam in from outside off past the inside edge as Ngarava can't get the bat down in time. Gumbie edged one earlier this over and he again prods with hard hands at this length ball angling in from well outside off. Abdul Malik takes it low to his left, and only once quick replay is enough to convince the officials that Gumbie has to walk back!. 19/1 13.3 to BJ Curran, Given! Beats his inside edge as Curran misses the flick and that looked good for the money. Inswinger on a length just outside off, Curran plays down the wrong line and he is struck pretty adjacent. 42.4 to BJ Bennett, Has he edged it? The umpire thinks so! Wrong'un on a length outside off turns in sharply and also bounces a fair bit. Bennett punches at it but plays the wrong line and gets an inside edge. Change of ends works wonders for Rashid and Afghanistan!. 119/6 46.6 to NT Nyamhuri, Cleans him up! Rashid Khan hits right back with a googly on a length outside off that knocks over the off pole! Nyamhuri took a step forward but had to adjust and then tried to cut it away, but the spin in from outside off meant he was cramped for room!. 147/7 65.6 to SC Williams, Huge appeal for caught behind but it's turned down! But wait a second! Williams is walking! He was on 49 and he walks! Rashid angles in a full ball around off and Williams is looking to tuck this leg side. But it's the wrong'un that does the trick again for Rashid, as the ball spins away past the outside edge. Rashid does deliver the breakthrough!. 220/8 73.3 to CR Ervine, Holes out at deep backward square! Rashid finishes with a four-for as Ervine brings out the slog sweep again. Zazai flashes hard at this full ball outside off and ends up hitting it straight to DIon Myers who takes a good low catch to his right. 69/5 113.5 to Yamin Ahmadzai, Nasty throat ball around the line off and he gets cramped for room, leaving the bat in the air and edging it to first slip and Raza makes no mistakes, lunges forward and pockets the catch low. Fantastic, menacing short one to the tailender gets the job done as Afghanistan get bowled out for 363. Time for lunch. 363/10 | ||||||||||

1.2 to Abdul Malik, Leading edge lobs up to mid-on! Abdul Malik looks to tuck this length ball leg side but the extra bounce sees it hit high on the bat. Nyamhuri takes an easy chance and Malik has to walk. He can't make too much of the luck he received last over!. 1/1 7.1 to Riaz Hassan, Zimbabwe go up again and so does the umpire's finger this time! Back of a length in that probing corridor just outside off. Threatens to angle in but decks away just a smidgen. Riaz has to play at it and in the end, feathers it through to Gumbie. A nice, low catch by the keeper and Afghanistan are two down very early in the piece. Muzarabani, meanwhile, is absolutely pumped!. 18/2 47.5 to Shahidullah, And it goes straight to the silly point fielder! You've got to love it when a good plan comes together! It's a length ball outside off that Shahidullah prods defensively at. It goes off the outside half of the bat to Kaitano at silly point, who was positioned there just now just for this kind of an opportunity! Partnership broken!. 136/6 87.5 to Rahmat Shah, Rahmat Shah departs! Good length ball darted on the stumps zipping through, sharp inwards movement, Rahmat Shah tries to play off the front foot, beaten by the pace and seam movement, hits the back pad. Massive appeal and the umpire raises his finger!. 268/7 97.1 to Rashid Khan, Muzarabani bounces Rashid out for his first Test five-for! "Come on," he roars! It's a sharp bouncer around off. Rashid was looking to duck and takes his eyes off. His hands instinctively come up to protect the head and the ball pops up off the gloves. Gumbie takes it after settling under it to his left. 318/8 109.5 to Ismat Alam, Drops short on middle and off, stays deep in the crease and pulls it across the line, guiding it straight into the hands of the fielder at short midwicket who didn't have to move a muscle to gobble it up, Kaitano with the simplest of the catches. Take a bow; it was a herculean effort from the debutant, getting to his century and putting Afghanistan on the path of ascendency. 356/9 | ||||||||||

The ball, though, snakes away after pitching and breezes past the outside edge, leaving the stumps in a mess. Gumbie only manages to sky it off the gloves and Abdul Malik pouches it at first slip. Zia-ur-Rehman delivers the first breakthrough!. 43/1 59.3 to NT Nyamhuri, Proloooooooonged appeal for an lbw and umpire was pressurized into raising his finger, well there was not much doubt too. Pitched up and got it turn just enough to beat his bat on middle, hits the knee-roll and there's not much confusion about it. Would have gone onto to hit the middle and Zimbabwe have capitulated big time in the last 30 minutes.. 178/8 | ||||||||||

20.5 to BJ Curran, What a gorgeous delivery! Fires a pinpoint accurate legbreak and it spun back appreciably as he tried to cut and ended up chopping on! Hits the bat on the turf in frustration and admonishes himself but that is the quality and expertise of Rashid Khan who is a genuine wicket-taker and he eventually finds a way to breach through the defence. Lovely variations and artistry. 63/2 29.2 to T Kaitano, Rashid doing Rashid things. You can't drop your guard against him. Goes down on one knee to sweep and miscues it by getting a top-edge to Abdul Malik at slip. This is a huge breakthrough just at the wrong time for Zimbabwe as they were looking stable out there and the partnership was blossoming. Took too much risk against the quality of Rashid and perished in the process. Perfect result for Afghanistan just before the Tea.. 89/3 33.4 to D Myers, Raps him in front and up goes the finger! Rashid Khan is running through Zimbabwe again! This is a googly outside off, Myers wants to defend on the front foot but is playing for turn away and gets struck on the front pad. That was pretty adjacent!. 99/4 52.4 to Sikandar Raza, Cries of catch it and it's plucked sharply at silly mid-off, Shahid swallows it down his throat and it's a soft dismissal. Rashid bowled way behind the popping crease and landed it short, Raza tried it lift it up and over the fielder and will be gutted to lose his wicket in this fashion. It was slipping away from Afghanistan and they have bounced back with a timely wicket which restores parity to this game. 157/5 58.3 to SC Williams, Rashid Khan has the last laugh and picks up a fifer! More flight on this occasion, lands it a touch shorter on the rough patch and gets it to turn in prodigiously, beating his ambitious slog-sweep and Williams ends up making a horrible mess of his stumps. Zimbabwe in a spot of bother and the extra bit of aggression and counter-attack has cost them a big wicket. Rashid has done an incredible job once again, he keeps finding ways to pick wickets and whenever you take him for granted, he finds a way to fox you. He is a legend. 177/6 58.5 to BJ Bennett, Disturbs the furniture again! Pitched up on middle from over the wicket and didn't turn much, straightened a touch, he tries to get behind the line and sees the bails come off. The pendulum swings in the favor of Afghanistan. Deafening silence in the crowd as Zimbabwe find themselves in dire straits. 177/7 68.3 to CR Ervine, Abu Dhabi, Chattogram, Dehradun and now Bulawayo - the latest red-letter day in Afghanistan's red-ball sojourn! A come-from-behind victory that will reverberate and resonate with those back home, and will stoke the fire that this is where Afghanistan belong, right in the thick of Test cricket and perhaps in times to come, as a permanent fixture in the format they have, so far, played so very little of but appear primed to make a mark in! Coming back to the ball. There is an enormous lbw shout, with the ball pitching outside off and turning back into Ervine. He was shaping for the sweep but played all over it. Impact may or may not have been outside off but umpire Ahsan Raza was convinced it struck Ervine in line and that it would have also gone on to hit the stumps. Joy for Afghanistan, and there are smiles and hugs in their dressing room; dejection and disappointment for Ervine.
