2.5 to Ibrahim Zadran, a bit of a leading edge, and taken by mid-off! Well grabbed by Tector, as he had to move across to his left. Rather, the ball came off the outside half of the bat, and ballooned up to end wide of mid-off. Adair went full and angled this in to pitch on off, with the length being too full to facilitate Ibrahim's attempted loft again. 11/2 2.6 to Mohammad Ishaq, a confident appeal for lbw, and it is given out pretty belatedly! That initially looked high to me, though. In fact, the first real-time replay indicates that the impact might have been just outside off too. Anyway, Adair is on a hat-trick. He angled this in to go on the shorter side of a length, and pitched it just outside off. The ball hinted to straighten away, as Ishaq went to push at it from deep in the crease but was beaten and so struck. 11/3 16.3 to Ijaz Ahmad Ahmadzai, fires a yorker-length ball and appeals for lbw, and it is given rather quickly! Adair swung this into the batter and got it to dip on to middle and leg. Ahmadzai was standing deep in the crease, with his front leg around leg stump. He went to club this across the line, but the ball came back in and he was struck in front. 119/7

1.3 to Rahmanullah Gurbaz, ahh, bowled him! Superb bowling! Adair didn't get the wicket last over, but this time the stumps are entirely disturbed. Little bowled on a length, while angling it across the right-hander, and pitching it on middle and off. But the ball zipped through straight right after pitching, and the pace on the ball beat Gurbaz's attempted late nudge from outside off on the inside edge. 6/1 3.4 to Azmatullah Omarzai, ohh, there's a faint sound, and Omarzai falls! He went driving at this full delivery which was angling across him again. It pitched on fifth stump, and kept heading away from him. There was no foot movement as he went driving, and the little outside edge was gobbled low by Tucker. 14/4

19.4 to Rashid Khan, well taken by Adair! He was placed at short third, but kept his eyes all along on the ball, even as he had to move across to his right. McCarthy went on a length, and pretty wide of off, as Rashid now tried the helicopter shot but the ball came off the outside half of the bat. 151/8 19.5 to Naveen-ul-Haq, finds deep backward point! McCarthy on a hat-trick. Naveen's face turns pale, as Dockrell takes it right on the edge of the rope. It was on a length from McCarthy, and around sixth stump, as Naveen tried to crush it away. 151/9

14.4 to Mohammad Nabi, taken at point! Nabi's aggressive innings ends. He skipped down the pitch to this fullish ball dipping in line with the stumps, and had a hoick across the line. But he seemed to have swung his bat too early - and the length seemed to be too full for that shot too - as a leading edge spooned up for Stirling to take it with a reverse cup. 109/6

19.6 to GJ Delany, taken at deep backward point! A full toss angling away and finishing around sixth stump, as he opened the face of the bat and sliced it away. 142/8

5.2 to PR Stirling, ahh, bowled him! What a response from Kharote! Stirling walks back frustrated. Kharote bowled on the shorter side of a length on middle, and also went quicker. The ball hinted to turn away too, as Stirling drove at it from middle, and with his front leg out of the way. But he missed, as the ball hit the top of off. 49/1 14.6 to A Balbirnie, confident and animated appeal for lbw, and given! But Balbirnie is almost shocked, and points to his glove in frustration, although he might be reprimanded for it. Kharote bowled on a length, and in line with the stumps, as Balbirnie again looked to paddle sweep it but seemingly hit it, as he walks back shaking his head. 95/5

8.4 to LJ Tucker, taken at short fine leg! Farooqi takes it with a reverse cup in front of his head. Again Tucker looked to paddle sweep, but this time didn't have fortune going his way. The ball was on a length outside off, and hence there was some more bounce than what would have been ideal for this shot, with Tucker getting it off the top edge. 68/2 8.5 to HT Tector, ahh, bowled him! Great bowling, and Rashid is on a hat-trick. The wrong 'un does Tector in, and Rashid is off in his typical arms-stretched celebration. He bowled it fullish around off, and got it to turn in to hit the side of Tector's front pad. Tector was defending from off stump, and the ball went in the gap between bat and pad to hit the stumps. 68/3 15.1 to GH Dockrell, chopped on! Rashid has his third, and the Afghanistan fans sense a victory. He angled this wrong 'un in, and pitched it on a length on middle. Dockrell had his front leg out of the way, and was pushing at it from middle and off. But he ended up dropping it close to his front leg, before the ball went on to hit middle and off. 95/6 15.3 to MR Adair, cleaned up! Adair is too far across his stumps, and is bowled by the googly. He ended another set of stumps outside off, and Rashid bowled on the shorter side of a length on off. Adair went swiping behind square, but was beaten by the turn into him, as the ball hit middle stump. 95/7

11.4 to C Campher, taken on the rebound! Nabi gets a return catch. The ball popped up off his raised right hand, as he leaped to try and take it, and luckily for him, it went up in the air only just above him. And when the ball came down, it landed comfortably in both his hands. Nabi bowled fullish and flat on off, as Campher came down the track to loft, but couldn't get it away. 81/4 |
