8.2 to Umar Akmal, steps out to go over cover, ends up slicing it towards deep point. The ball was swirling in the air for a long time, Shakib positioned himself nicely and took it quite easily. First sign of aggression from Akmal and he has to perish.. 28/4

1.1 to Khurram Manzoor, beauty first up and a huge roar resonates across the stadium. That one pitches on length and just takes off, Manzoor was half-forward as he looked to defend, but the ball got big on him and kissed the glove on the way through to Mushfiqur. Another failure for Manzoor, another poor start for Pakistan.. 1/1 17.3 to Shahid Afridi, full toss on middle, and he's picked the fielder at deep midwicket. Didn't get the connection as he looked to swing that over the ropes. He's out again within the bat of an eyelid. 102/6 19.6 to Anwar Ali, swung away towards deep midwicket, where Soumya Sarkar takes an excellent catch. Flat hit, it was dipping on him but he did well to run in early and make it look simple. 129/7

3.5 to Sharjeel Khan, knocked him over! This one was nicely tossed up, he looked to set himself up for a biff over deep midwicket, but only managed to connect with the cool Mirpur air. The ball spins back in to hit middle stump. Pakistan in early trouble. 12/2 16.4 to Shoaib Malik, the change of angle has done the trick. This was pitched on leg, Malik didn't get the free swing of his arms as he looked to slog that across the line, only managed a top edge as Sabbir, at deep midwicket, took an easy catch. Malik has done his job though. 98/5

4.5 to Mohammad Hafeez, appeal for lbw, almost a belated one, and the umpire raises the finger, the crowd roars in delight. The ball came back in a long way, Hafeez was hit on middle and leg, near the thigh. Mortaza was the only one who went up spontaneously before the keeper joined him and Hafeez has to walk back. Have to say he may have been unfortunate there, ball would have clearly gone over. Hafeez has a wry smile as he walks off. 18/3

13.2 to Soumya Sarkar, magnificent yorker to bring an end to a superb innings. That will breathe some life back into the game. This was full, at a furious pace on middle, Sarkar was late to jam his bat down as the ball squeezed through to peg back the middle stump. Amir lets out a roar as his teammates rush towards him. What a bowler, this bloke!. 83/3 17.2 to Shakib Al Hasan, another poor stroke, and Amir's unstoppable! This one was a length ball slanting in, Shakib gets across and looks to scoop it fine, but is clearly beaten for pace as the ball smashes into the middle and leg stump. Shakib smashes the stumps with his bat in disgust, disappointment or whatever you may call it, but quickly puts his hand up to apologise to the umpire, as if to suggest it was all too momentary. The crowd is stunned into silence. Amir's transformed a cruise into a road block here. Game on!. 104/5

1.4 to Tamim Iqbal, so the comeback hasn't been a sweet one for Tamim. Looked to play across the line to a delivery that was dead straight on middle, and once he missed there was little chance of him surviving the strong appeal. 13/1

8.1 to Sabbir Rahman, the captain has struck against the run of play. This one was fired in, superb drift as well, Sabbir stepped out and pushed outside the line, only to see the ball sneak through and deflect off the pad onto the stumps.. 46/2

14.2 to Mushfiqur Rahim, brain freeze, can't say much else. Mushfiqur looks to play a reverse sweep to a delivery that pitched outside leg, he missed it completely, Malik almost pleaded thrice before Anil Chaudhary raised the finger after deliberating long and hard. Is that another escape route for Pakistan? Change of bowling has done the trick again. 88/4 |
