14.2 to SW Billings, Meredith's in-tailing yorker takes out an in-flow Billings. 137ks spears in low, at the base of leg stump. Billings had been going across to get inside the line, none of that business here. He was trapped leg side of the ball, couldn't lunge low but the body-weight was going forward as he pre-meditated the sweep again. Missed it completely. 134/3 18.5 to O Davies, Canes pulling it back bigtime at the death. 115ks, into the pitch, gets the big wicket on the pull. Davies stood leg side of the ball and heaved across, had a stable base but a wobbly upper body upon impact. Top edges to deep square leg. 168/5 18.6 to GHS Garton, One more pull, one more catch (long-on), and one more roar from the crowd. Ricky Ponting on air has to yell how Garton failed trying to take on the long boundary. Was a wide, shortish ball that went off the bottom of the bat. Two in two. 168/6

10.2 to DA Warner, Nicked, and taken! Is it a clean catch though? Warner asks the keeper, Wade, who seems to have said it was. Warner's walking but the third ump will check. Was a wide length ball that Warner reached out to and tried to slash. Thickish edge had a small lob before dying into the keeper's gloves. Wade was lunging low to the right and had hands going forward, the balancing of weight while getting the direction right was what made it possible. The ball bounced into the tip of the gloves before lodging into the palms. 97/1 10.3 to M Gilkes, Oiiii, one brings two bois! IT IS A PARTY AMONG THE CROWD! Ellis is charging towards midwicket, roaring his heart out, pumping his fist. Wade and Chaudhary join in. Was the slower one that did the trick. Length ball on fifth, angling away outside off, Gilkes tried to punch it through cover. Checked his shot but was too early on it, inside edge, back onto the stumps. Thanks for coming. 97/2 15.6 to JJS Sangha, Slices a sweep to cover, Sangha - the set opener - is Ellis' third! Slower one was full and just outside off, Sangha went across and had a hearty swipe. The bat rolled in his hand and the ball saucered right up. Lobbed at an easy pace to McDermott. 146/4

10.2 to MJ Owen, Owen's heroic effort ends and the crowd give him a rousing reception. He walks back to the dugout, raises his bat with huge applause going off above. "Pretty special, 44 runs left. That's all I care about right now," he says on the sidelines.. 139/3

7.2 to CP Jewell, pulled straight to midwicket! Short drag down gets a wicket! Jewell was back to pull, maybe it held in the surface a touch, he miscued it flat and straight to Warner who is close at midwicket and takes a sharp chance. 109/1 7.5 to N Chaudhary, top edge to short fine! Legbreak flighted on off, he sweeps but some extra bounce catches the top edge and it floats to short fine!. 111/2 |
