7.6 to ST Jayasuriya, gone! there's the breakthrough for England and it's the huge scalp of Jayasuriya...Mahmood kept his pace going, this one was tight on off stump and is defended with an angled bat and the ball crashes it the stumps. Delight for Mahmood and Vaughan, who looks really pumped at that wicket. 37/1 18.1 to KC Sangakkara, change of pace, change of ends and that's a slow, wide, low full toss which is carved off the back foot to Collingwood for a pretty comfortable catch. 69/2 49.1 to SL Malinga, gone! bangs it in, Malinga goes for the pull and it goes high put not very far...Nixon runs from his position and takes it heading back towards the fine-leg rope. 226/8 49.4 to RP Arnold, gone! it really has been Mahmood's day so far, a low full toss on middle stump and Arnold swings it away off the middle towards deep midwicket...but straight at Ed Joyce who snaffles his second catch of the innings...and that's a career-best ODI effort from Mahmood. 231/9 | ||||||||||

34.5 to WU Tharanga, banged in outside and that's a mistimed pull sliced up to Pietersen, who makes a Powerplay-esque sign with his whirly arms in delight. 160/3 46.1 to LPC Silva, there we go, that's how to bowl at the death...full and straight spearing in at middle stump, it goes right through Silva and into middle stump. England continue to chip away. 215/6 46.6 to WPUJC Vaas, gone! more outstanding work from England, outside off stump and Vaas pushes at it, the ball flies towards backward point and Collingwood, who has just been moved there, dives to his right, flings out his hand and pulls off a top catch. 219/7 | ||||||||||

5.2 to EC Joyce, pitches on leg and this time Malinga strikes! Clever bowling, kept it up to the batsman and there wasn't much movement of the feet, in fact hardly any at all. The finger goes up immediately, and there wasn't really much doubt at all, HawkEye confirming it would have gone on to clip leg stick. 11/2 48.5 to PA Nixon, that must be the final blow, you'd expect. Big, big wicket that - Nixon went to smack that high over extra cover, but there just wasn't the room to bunt it that far, and that's a great effort from him. 220/7 | ||||||||||

33.1 to A Flintoff, gone! brilliant bowling from Fernando, completely deceived by the slower ball, tries to go over mid on but only gets it as far as Malinga on the edge of the circle and that puts Sri Lanka firmly in the driving seat. 133/5 33.3 to PD Collingwood, gone! and that almost certainly seals the deal...Collingwood is trapped on the crease as Fernando slips a quicker one through his defence. That was taking out middle half way up, no doubt about it...what a spell from Sri Lanka, who are showing why they are many people's favourites to win the World Cup. 133/6 49.6 to RS Bopara, bowled him! Neck and crop! What a brilliant delivery; just back of a length, the perfect wicket-to-wicket delivery to clip the top of off. Great finish, well done Sri Lanka, well done Fernando.
