17.5 to KIC Asalanka, Shorter than the blockhole on middle and Asalanka takes his fellow countryman on, uses lots of bottom hand and whacks it away towards deep midwicket and cow corner, picks out Haider who holds onto it brilliantly and didn't lose it while tumbling. Terrific knock from the Sri Lankan. That is the fielding standard we expect at this level. 189/4

5.3 to AGS Gous, Pace-off slightly shortish delivery on fifth stump or thereabouts does the trick; early through the thwack and he wanted to carry along his merry way; struck powerfully but straight to Shanaka at short cover and he has to go. Admonishes himself but he has provided a brisk start and played some delightful strokes in his 17-ball stay. Much-needed wicket for Capitals as they were in the firing line since ball one. 63/1
4 | 0 | 24 | 2 | 6.00 | 9 | 3 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
6.3 to KR Mayers, Tossed up on a length and it curls away wide of off, clever work from Sikandar Raza, lured him with the width and he goes hard at it, edges it to the keeper much to the delight of the bowler who is absolutely pumped up. Good move to bring himself into the attack. So both set batters back in the hut. Capitals have made a comeback after a forgettable powerplay. 69/2 8.2 to MS Pepper, Flights this less on a shortish length and angles it at leg stump, surprised him with the searing pace, almost bowled like a medium pacer and he tries to tickle it fine but tickled it straight into the keeper's mitts and cannot believe what he has done. Raza is such a canny operator; you just can't drop your guard against him. Time for a short break. 82/3

4.2 to AM Rossington, Short of a length in the channel, chips it in the air and gives the simplest of the catches to Willey at mid-off who gobbles it up his throat; just went with the motions and tried to lift it up and over by moving to the leg-side. Change in bowling works. Timely breakthrough but you could sense asking rate creeping up and prompting batters to take risk. 41/1

17.2 to Gulbadin Naib, Lures him with the bait and he bites it. Takes the pace off, lands it full on off and he would definitely try to smash it downtown but this time he didn't catch the middle and mistimed it to Russell at long-on and he gobbles it up in his big bucket hands. Slight twist in the tale but Gulbadin has put his side in a strong position; threw his glove away and is livid with himself. 176/2
