43.3 to WB Chatterjee, got this to come back in and Tokas has trapped Writtick plumb in front. He was looking to work this through midwicket but was overbalanced as this would've crashed into middle and leg. Talk about wasting another start.. 132/3
21 | 5 | 55 | 3 | 2.61 | 100 | 9 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
3.4 to AR Easwaran, this is a massive breakthrough, but there's some confusion if this is lbw or caught behind. Looks like lbw in the end. This is much fuller, came back in sharply off the seam to beat Abhimanyu's inside edge. He was hit on the pad and since he wasn't fully forward, the ball didn't have much distance to cover. That would've crashed into the stumps. The in-form Easwaran is gone. 8/1 81.2 to AP Majumdar, reward at the end of a long, long day for Saini and this is a beauty that goes past Majumdar's defence. Slanted this short of length from wide of the crease, Majumdar is late on the shot because he's beaten for pace. This keeps a touch low as well to crash into the off stump.. 251/6 91.6 to SP Goswami, huge appeal for lbw and the umpire gives it! Goswami is stuck on the crease against a full delivery angled in from around the wicket. Gorgeous ball, really. Does him for length. He should've been forward to that.. 283/8
20.2 | 1 | 64 | 2 | 3.14 | 86 | 8 | 0 | 0 | 2 | |
86.2 to B Amit, loose shot and he perishes as stumps loom large. He was bordering on the unorthodox and has to perish. Made room even before the bowler delivered, Khejroliya banged one in short, trying to cramp him for room, and Amit simply went outside leg and used the bowler's pace to help this straight down the throat of third man. As far as catches go, it can't get easier than that. 265/7 94.2 to AB Dinda, mistimes this swat from way outside off to Manan at midwicket. Absolutely no power on that as he hit this towards the bottom part. Easily taken. Bengal have folded in little over 40 minutes this morning.. 286/10

18.2 to A Raman, what have you done, Raman? Got away with an lbw appeal in the previous over, but can't this time. Steps out to go over the bowler's head but got too close to the pitch of the ball and ended up drilling this straight to Mishra, who takes an excellent return catch. Raman's thrown it away.. 54/2
13 | 2 | 37 | 2 | 2.84 | 55 | 4 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
63.2 to MK Tiwary, the captain has committed hara-kiri. Oh, dear. Was looking to clear mid-on, ended up dragging it from wide outside off to the fielder there. No timing or power behind it. Manan saw him charging and tossed this up just a touch wider and has been rewarded for it. Tiwary has thrown it away, just like Raman.. 200/4 65.1 to SD Chatterjee, what do they say about the old adage? 'One brings two.' Unmukt Chand, substituting for Gautam Gambhir, has taken a sharp, sharp catch at cover. Sudip is gutted but he has only himself to blame. This was short and sliding away, there to be hit alright, but Sudip rocks back and slaps this uppishly. Chand dives low to his right to complete a superb catch. Talk about making an impact as a substitute. Delhi on the upswing here.. 209/5 |

70.2 to DR Shorey, they've prised him out with a short ball and this is a big wicket. Angled in short into the body from wide of the crease, Shorey hoped across to pull but it looks like it may have just whizzed past the glove. The umpire was perhaps influenced by the nature of the appeal. Shorey is mighty unlucky . 247/2 82.1 to RR Pant, got him! They've got Pant second ball and this is a big inswinger from off stump. Oh this looks a close decision too. Shapes in and then nips back off the pitch as he looks to flick. Hits him in front of leg. Dinda is ecstatic, he knows this will be given as he's making the appeal because it looks plumb on first view. Game on. 281/5

77.2 to G Gambhir, big, big wicket and Shami has given Bengal a ray of hope by prising out Gambhir. This is an excellent short ball angled into his ribs from around the stumps, Gambhir looks to hop out of the way but has no room to maneuver this one as the ball brushes the glove on the way through to the keeper. End of a sublime knock that has put Delhi ahead, but the last hour clear belonged to Bengal.. 271/3 81.1 to N Rana, given lbw! Shami traps Rana right in front of middle stump. No front foot push from the batsman as he looks to flick. The only doubt there is whether that pitched outside leg...and replays show it pitched just outside. Abhijit Deshmukh the umpire. 280/4 91.4 to Manan Sharma, runs out of luck. Another short ball at Manan. He takes it on with a pull and as has been the case for a long time, he miscues the shot. It's off the high part of the bat and lobs straight to backward short leg. 328/6 110.1 to Himmat Singh, traps him on the back foot right in front of middle stump. It's a skidder coming back in from a length. There are two sounds but replays suggest that's the ball flicking the front pad and then hitting the back pad. Looks dead straight. Himmat Singh looked troubled for the first time this innings. Took a while and he's capitalised on the freebies. Good knock. 384/7 110.2 to NA Saini, back of a length in the corridor, climbs on the batsman who is forced to play at this. Does it anxiously. Hangs the bat out, offers the edge, and Shami finds it. 384/8 116.6 to K Khejroliya, slower ball at a good length, coming in at off stump. He clears the front leg and swipes across the line. Gets a top edge that hangs up for first slip who takes a simple catch. 398/10
33 | 12 | 64 | 2 | 1.93 | 169 | 11 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
61.3 to K Chandela, finally a wicket for Bengal and credit to wicketkeeper Goswami, who dives full length to his right to pluck this one-handed stunner. Incredibly, the ball didn't bobble out even as his elbows hit the turf. Loose stroke from Chandela, played away from the body. Looks like he ran out of patience because Amit kept bowling there in the hope of the batsman poking at that. Finally some reward late in the day for Bengal but what a fabulous innings this has been from the young man.. 232/1 113.3 to V Tokas, Amit has Tokas scooping a catch to mid-off. Full and outside off, Tokas makes no attempt to get close to the pitch of the ball. Instead, he stays leg side of it, throws his bat at the ball, and holes out to mid-off. Fine overhead catch there. 386/9

2.5 to A Raman, trapped in front and that's quite plumb. Zips it in from wide of the crease, at a length and right in front middle stump. Strikes him on the back foot as he looks to glance. 6/1

11.3 to SD Chatterjee, he's uprooted off stump! This stays low after pitching on a length, skids through at shin height and rips through his defence. Saini goes berserk as the batsman gets on his haunches to wonder why it was him who got this ball. Bengal are tottering. 35/3 17.4 to MK Tiwary, bowled him! Plays inside the line again, but this time Saini has bowled it fuller. It's in at middle stump. Tentative defensive shot from Tiwary. It straightens past the outside edge and strikes the top of off stump. 60/6 19.5 to AA Gani, shoulders arms to an inswinger and it tonks off stump. Superb from Saini. He's moving it both ways off the pitch. This one doesn't straighten. The classic length ball hitting top of off - literally. Gani's gone, Bengal's end closing in quickly. 64/7 19.6 to B Amit, 144kph! Saini has gone berserk! Shiny side outside helps him take the ball away from around the wicket. It's angled in at middle stump, he's looking to defend that line from the crease, but it jags away and takes the off stump. 64/8

8.5 to AR Easwaran, finds the same fielder next ball. Easwran has been adventurous this innings. And after surviving two chances, he's offered a third that marks his end. Is that his last innings of the season? It's a pull shot. Fetched a short ball from wide outside off and this time the fielder didn't have to move. 33/2 14.5 to AP Majumdar, taken down leg side. An aimless waft from Majumdar. Bouncer at leg stump, not a menacing one. He plonked his front leg across and looked to dab it fine, but he has tickled it off the glove to Pant. 44/5 22.3 to SP Goswami, taken at short leg. Short one jumps into his mid-riff. He looks to tickle it fine, with one hand coming off. Inside edge onto thigh guard, lobs up for that fielder who is a little deep. Nitish Rana. He dives forward and takes it. 75/9 24.4 to AB Dinda, gets him with a wristspinner! Delhi are into the final for the first time since the 2007-08 season. Tossed up at off stump, at a length. He swipes across the line and loses off stump. 86/10 |
