slapped to cover! Curran Jnr plucks it from the air to give Curran Snr a fourth wicket, and Oval Invincibles have completed a steamrollering. Invincibles win by 83 runs and will go level with Superchargers and Rockets at the top
Invincibles vs Fire, 16th Match at London, Men's Hundred, Aug 16 2025 - Match Result
8.45pm: About as comprehensive as you'll get, despite Welsh Fire giving it their all. A chase of 227 needed everything to come off and, well - it didn't. Jonny Bairstow cracked a half-century and there were cameos from Luke Wells and Tom Kohler-Cadmore, but not much else besides. Tom Curran took four-for, Jason Behrendorff three; so big was the winning margin, that Invincibles go top with a huge jump in NRR
Jordan Cox is Match Hero for his unbeaten 86 off 29: "It was good, to play at The Oval every week is an absolute honour. Feel like the timeout changed everything. We backed ourselves to go after the bowling, and it was our day. [Batting depth] Don't think we could have done that without Donovan coming in, Sammy coming in... it's amazing how we got 200, amazing. Top spot is what we want, so working hard and being disciplined. So far been pretty good."
Thanks for joining us tonight, as the sixes rained down. We'll be back for more tomorrow, with another double double-header from Manchester and Birmingham. Until then... bye!
Last man Ajeet Singh Dale walks in
skied to backward point! Curran hits a hard length with pace on and Payne has a wild slog that goes almost straight up. Well held as it dips behind square by Sowter
pace off, full on the stumps, plinked to long-on
TeeCee for his last set
googly, somehow misses leg stump! Payne unfurled the slog-sweep, didn't connect. Must have looked back wondering how his wicket remained intact
follows him, Payne is moving outside leg but can't get it away
fizzed down on the stumps, swatted to long-on
belted through wide long-on, Henry heaves to good effect this time, beats the dive in the deep
fired into the pads as Henry steps away and swings blindly
Rashid to bowl out
length ball on the stumps, 83mph and poked into the covers for a single
"Muyeye is miked up for the BBC TV coverage." There we go. Thanks, Hypocaust
banged in, 85mph and defended into the covers
fires in the yorker, right at the toes. Does well to shovel it away leg side
dug in short, steered for four (somehow)! Henry puts the hands up, more in self-preservation than an attempt to take it on. Punched wide of Billings, gets a smile from Mahmood
short ball, gloved down leg! Not sure Ian Blackwell was going to give it, but Kohler-Cadmore knew and starts to walk. Just brushed the gloves as he swung hard at a pull and Billings did the rest springing across to his left
Mahmood to bowl a third set
short ball, feathered behind! Behrendorff bangs it in and gets the reward as Zaib attempts an extravagant ramp-cum-pull. Just a tickle through to Billings and up goes the finger
pace off, I think. Swing and a miss
pumped through extra cover, nicely played by Zaib as he steps out and chips into the untended acres
"What is Tawanda wearing on his ear that's all taped up?" I presumed a mic, Shayan. But he's not been spoken to by Sky
slower ball wide of off, clunked down to long-on
length ball in the channel, shaping a touch and stabbed through point
Behrendorff is back
Saif Zaib walks in
chipped back, Curran snaffles it! Enthusiastic celebration from SCurran, though it was more David Brent than John Travolta. Bowled into the pitch, Green prodded it back at waist height, safely grabbed in his follow through
slower ball on a wide line, TKC chops it through the covers to the sweeper
