Tanzim Hasan Sakib

Tanzim Hasan Sakib was Bangladesh's best-performing fast bowler in the T20 World Cup in 2024. He took 11 wickets at an average of 13.54, with a career-best bowling performance of 4 for 7 against Nepal. Tanzim bowled with pace, extracting seam or swing offered by conditions and the mostly favourable pitches in the USA and the West Indies. He was so good at the World Cup that the Bangladesh team management couldn't use Shoriful Islam for even one match after Tanzim had replaced the in-form left-arm quick at the start of the tournament.

This was the first time also that Tanzim got a long run in the Bangladesh team. Since his debut in September 2023, he has never played more than two matches in a series or tournament. That's because of Bangladesh's impressive fast bowling stock in that period.

Tanzim was part of Bangladesh's Under-19 World Cup winning team in 2020. He took seven wickets in the tournament including two in the final against India. Born and brought up in Sylhet, Tanzim was admitted to BKSP in 2017 after failing to do so in the first attempt. He has listed MS Dhoni and Mushfiqur Rahim as his heroes.
