0.2 to SM Whiteman, gets Whiteman next ball! Slowed up a little on a length on middle and leg. Whiteman tries the fine paddle sweep but gets into an awkward position. In the end, the ball pings off the glove and rolls onto the stumps. It is all happening here at the Adelaide Oval!. 1/1 | ||||||||||

19.2 to AC Agar, goes miles up, and taken by Overton comfortably! Hard length outside off. Seems to just hold in the surface, meaning that Agar toe-ends it. Almost brings down rain with it, but when it comes down, Overton is well settled to complete the catch at long on. He briefly looked at where the fence was but he was well within bounds!. 146/6 19.4 to C Connolly, another catch for Overton! Full and zipped into the pads. Connolly tries to create room to go downtown but is unable to do so. Short-arm jabs it almost and hitting to the long straight boundary, that was never going to be enough. 2.4 to Z Crawley, off stump out of the ground! Length in the channel just outside off. Crawley backs away, thinking he can go inside out. The ball, though, decks back just a smidgen and goes past Crawley's flailing blade, leaving his off stump in an absolute mess. The Strikers have two in the powerplay, and the Scorchers are in some early strife!. 11/2 | ||||||||||

9.2 to AM Hardie, Pope answers the Strikers' call! Slows this up and bowls it outside Hardie's arc. Hardie tries to fetch it, looking to target the shorter boundary again. Does not make the contact he desires, though, and shanks it. Spoons up towards deep mid wicket, where Hose does the rest. Vital, vital breakthrough!. 71/3 11.6 to JP Inglis, superb work by Hose! Pope has two! Fizzed through on a length on middle and off. Seems to just stick in the surface and bounces extra, meddling with Inglis' timing. Hacks at it anyway but ends up splicing it towards deep mid wicket. Hose comes charging in, dives forward and completes an excellent catch! Pope has taken out both Hardie and Inglis today!. 93/4 | ||||||||||

16.2 to LJ Evans, straight to short third man! Slowed up even more on a length on middle and off. Evans seems to pre-meditate the reverse sweep, only to find out, rather fatefully, that he just does not have the requisite pace to work with. Does not bail out of the stroke and all he does is chip it tamely to Payne. Crucial wicket at this stage!. 131/5 | ||||||||||
