39.5 to YBK Jaiswal, here comes the finger-on-the-lip celebration again. Islam cranks it up to 130ks, he hits a hard length - neither pullable nor cuttable. Cramps Jasiwal for room. This is more a short-arm flap than a short-arm pull. Easy catch for Tanzid at short midwicket. Big, big scalp for Bangladesh. 156/4 39.6 to SA Veer, Veer out for zero. what a double-strike from Islam. They've surged ahead in the contest with this. Full-toss, slanting in from over the wicket, Veer plays around his front pad and falls over the flick. Would it have hit leg stump with that angle? The umpire reckons so. Two in two for Bangladesh. 156/5

28.6 to NT Tilak Varma, that's a big wicket! Dug in short, and he lays into it. The cut is a bit wild, and goes straight to deep backward point. Shoriful, the tallest member of this Bangladesh team, is stationed there, and he times his jump to a nicety to pouch this. That's the exact opening Bangladesh would have been hoping for! A twist in the tale.... 103/2 47.2 to SS Mishra, Top-edged to deep third man. Dug in short and angling across off, clears his front leg, swings and skews it to deep third man. The fielder runs in and completes a terrific catch. 177/10

6.4 to DA Saxena, Das strikes in his first over and lets out a big roar. Credit to Islam and Sakib for handcuffing these openers in the lead-up to this dimissal. This was floated full and wide outside off, the release shot was there to be honest, but the execution from Saxena is wrong. He throws his hands at the ball and slices a drive straight to backward point. 9/1 44.1 to AV Ankolekar, Played on. India crack under pressure. Slower, short ball just outside off, cramped for room. He aims to chop it down to deep third man, but Atharva instead drags it back onto the stumps. 170/8 44.6 to Kartik Tyagi, Snaffled down the leg side. Shortish and slanting down the leg side, Tyagi aims to glance it to the fine-leg fence. He doesn't get enough bat on it and fine catch by the captain-keeper. 172/9

31.3 to PK Garg, Garg goes as well! Soft dismissal, in the end, as the ball pops up off an intended check-drive down the ground. Grips a bit, and goes off towards cover. Simple catch, and Rakibul puts his finger on his lips, as if to silence the Indian supporters. This is a good spell for Bangladesh, where they are prizing open the Indian top order and exposing a low-on-practice middle order. 114/3

20.1 to Shamim Hossain, short, wide, and what have you done Shamim? He has thrown his wicket away. He slaps it in the air, but can't clear the boundary. Jaiswal runs in from sweeper cover and completes a smart diving catch. Both Jaiswal and Tyagi are pumped. That might silence the Bangladesh fans. 85/5 22.6 to Avishek Das, Dropped and out now. What're you doing Bangladesh? Banged in short and outside off from around the wicket, gets big on the batsman. So, he can't control a hook. Top-edged away , Tyagi runs in from deep square leg and pouches it coolly. 102/6

8.5 to Tanzid Hasan, rush of blood costs Tanzid! Looks like another googly, and this time the length not as full as the second ball of the over. He looks to swing this over cow corner again, but ends up holing out to Kartik Tyagi who was stationed at mid-wicket, about three-quarters of the way to the fence. Tyagi looks at the Indian supporters and pumps his fist. 50/1 12.5 to Mahmudul Hasan Joy, plays on to a googly! Emon goes down in a heap of emotion, as Mahmudul fails to read a googly pitching just outside off. Goes back to try and drive, and gets the inside of the bat on to the stumps. Bishnoi points to the pavilion, and India keep plugging away through one of their best wicket-taking threats. This game is not done and dusted yet...far from it, clearly!. 62/2 14.1 to Towhid Hridoy, another wrong'un, another wicket! Bishnoi pins the back pad in line with middle. This was much fuller and breaks back in sharply, fizzes off the pitch and Towhid goes for a duck. 62/3 16.1 to Shahadat Hossain, wrong'un from outside off, breaks back in, inside-edged onto the pad. Jurel is so sure that he has his man. The batsman had stretched out, lost his balance, the ball rolls behind off an inside edge. Jurel collects the ball and flips the bails off with just one hand. Indeed, Shahadat is out stumped. Bishnoi is turning it around for India, and he's the top wicket-taker this tournament now. 65/4

Jaiswal has the breakthrough! This final takes another twist. Emon stretches to reach this, pitched well outside off. He goes for the uppish drive, but cannot keep it down. Smart catch at extra cover by Akash Singh, flat to his left. 62/2 31.6 to Parvez Hossain Emon, Jaiswal has the breakthrough! This final takes another twist. Emon stretches to reach this, pitched well outside off. He goes for the uppish drive, but cannot keep it down. Smart catch at extra cover by Akash Singh, flat to his left. 143/7 |
